Frequently asked questions.

  • Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in certain species of mushrooms. It has been shown to have a range of potential therapeutic benefits, including reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety, and helping to alleviate the psychological distress associated with terminal illness. It may also have potential as a treatment for addiction and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Some studies have also suggested that it can lead to increased awareness, creativity, empathy, spirituality, and a sense of well-being. As always, more research is needed to fully understand the effects of psilocybin and to determine its safety and effectiveness as a treatment. If you have medical concerns about ingesting psilocybin, you should always consult with your chosen medical professional.

  • People are seeking ways to slow down and connect with themselves on a deeper level. Psilocybin mushrooms can provide a unique opportunity for self-discovery, personal growth & transformation. Yet, everyone approaches their experience from a different place and there are parts of a psilocybin journey that can be quite intense and/or cathartic.

You may have specific circumstances you wish to address, like anxiety, depression, or trauma recovery. You may also be on prescription medications that could interfere or be contra-indicated with a psilocybin experience. Your safety is always our first priority.

Thus, we will discuss your health, wellness, and medication profile with you at length well before any session. We also are willing to consult with medical or therapy providers to make sure everyone is on board with a safety & support plan for you as you approach this work. We always advise people to discuss any health concerns with their medical provider.

  • Psilocybin use is legal in Oregon under Measure 109, codified under ORS 475A, which is regulated by the Oregon Health Authority. Please note: psilocybin is still federally classified as a Schedule I controlled substance. In Oregon anyone 21 years of age or over can obtain psilocybin services, for any reason. No diagnosis or prescription is needed. Clients must, however, participate in a preparation session with a licensed psilocybin facilitator before consuming the product in a licensed service center.

Psilocybin products are sold by licensed Oregon Psilocybin Service Centers direct to clients for use onsite at the center only, and in the presence of a licensed facilitator.

  • The cost of psilocybin services will vary depending on the facilitator you hire and the specific service center you choose to work with. Factors such as experience, expertise, and location can influence pricing.

At HeartSong NW, we have worked to develop a tiered pricing structure that reflects our deep experience and still makes this work accessible.

HeartSong uses a 3-Tiered Fee Structure. You choose a payment tier based on what you can pay. We’re all in this together. So, if you can pay at the higher levels, this allows us to help people who need financial assistance to access this work.

If you have any questions about pricing or need to request financial assistance, we can address that in your initial scheduled Q&A Session.

The 3 tiers for a solo facilitated journey with a HeartSong Facilitator are:

    FIR: $1750
    CEDAR: $2400
    OAK: $2800

    These tiers all include:

    • Intention-Setting & Preparation Session

    • Facilitated Journey @ a licensed Service Center with music, live sound-healing & compassionate support.

    • An integration session several days after the journey to support you harvesting wisdom & a list of actionable items you wish to work on after the journey.

Additional costs include the rental of a journey space at a licensed service center ($500 - $1500), as well as the cost of purchasing the psilocybin directly at & from the service center on the day of your scheduled journey ($120 - $300).

  • If you cancel your session for any reason, any money you have deposited for facilitation or room rental at a service center can be re-assigned/rescheduled to a new available date that we agree upon in the future. Thus, deposits & payments for services are non-refundable. Think of any payments you make as a commitment to yourself, to your journey, and to doing this deep work. Thank you for your understanding & your commitment to growth & personal transformation.

  • Yes, we have a lot of experience and enjoy working with pairs and groups of people that wish to journey together. Organizing groups of 3 to 8 people can save individuals on overall cost.

Group experiences can be very powerful, beneficial & healing on many levels. Ask more about paired or group sessions in your initial Q&A Session.

  • Not at this time. We believe that one day that will happen. As more research helps insurance companies understand the value of psilocybin, they may start covering these services in the future.

  • The experience of taking psilocybin, commonly referred to as a "trip” or “journey” can vary depending on a number of factors, including the individual's state of mind, surroundings, and the dosage ingested. Typically, a psilocybin trip begins within 20-60 minutes of ingestion and can last for several hours. During this time, users may experience a range of effects, including altered perception of time and space, changes in mood and emotional state, vivid visual and auditory hallucinations, and an increased sense of connection with others and the environment. Some people may also have a “mystical” or “spiritual” experience, feeling as though they have gained insight into the nature of reality or their place in the universe. However, it's important to note that there are challenging & difficult aspects of psilocybin journeys. Some people may experience anxiety, fear, or other negative emotions during an experience. You may experience intense highs and lows during a journey as you confront your personal life experiences. This is why it is important to be in a safe and comfortable environment, and to have someone with you who can provide support and assistance when needed.

  • Great question! We have developed a system we use to help people integrate their psychedelic experiences & turn them into actionable items for the change people wish to see in their lives. See our INTEGRATION PAGE FOR MORE INFO
